03 — The workshop
“I’ve been in this trade since 1998. I took the master exam because I wanted the awkward jobs — the ornament, the stairwell, the wall everyone else says can’t be saved.”

Meckel Raumgestaltung is a family business and a certified training workshop, which means an apprentice is learning on our sites every year. Small team, one master signature on every job, and the same two people you met at the quote turning up on the morning we start.

04 — How a job runs

Five steps, and you’re told before each one.

The snap-line a painter chalks on a wall before cutting in. Same idea — the line is drawn first, then nothing wanders off it.

You send the room

Fill in the form, or just send a couple of phone photos and rough measurements on WhatsApp. No appointment needed to get a number.

Free visit & fixed quote

We come out, measure properly, and write a quote that lists materials and labour separately — so you can see exactly what the §35a deduction will cover.

Colour, surface and product advice

We go through shades, finishes and which product actually suits the wall — in the room itself, not over a counter. Part of the free consultation, never billed separately.

We work clean

Everything masked and sheeted, furniture moved and put back, dust kept in the room it belongs to. You get a start date and an end date, both in writing.

Handover & a correct invoice

We walk the room with you before we pack up. The invoice is formatted for the tax office, so the labour line goes straight onto your return.

05 — The bit your accountant likes

Up to €1,200 comes straight back off your tax.

Under §35a Abs. 3 EStG, private individuals can deduct 20% of the labour on a tradesman's invoice directly from tax owed — up to €1,200 a year, on €6,000 of labour. It applies whether you rent or own, and even if you haven't moved in yet. We just have to invoice it correctly. We do.
